About Gastronomia Sampa

What it is

A culture guide to São Paulo: concerts, poetry slams, theater, exhibitions, street fairs, festivals, community events, organic markets and restaurants. Every event comes with tips on bars, restaurants and bakeries nearby. From the East Zone to the West Zone, downtown to the outskirts, the city to the countryside and the coast, free outings to special dinners.

How the guide is made

Curation is done by artificial intelligence. Every week it searches official websites, public agencies, the press and organizers, cross-checks information against more than one source whenever possible, and writes an original summary for each event.

• Every event links to its source and shows the date it was checked.
• When information comes from an older source, the page says so.
• Past events stay online as a record, marked as ended.
• Event posters are generated by the site itself. We do not use third-party photos.
• The English and Spanish versions are translated automatically from Portuguese.
• With your permission (cookie notice), we use Google Analytics to learn which pages and events are most visited. We do not use this data for ads. You can change your choice under "Cookie preferences" in the footer.

What we look for

The whole city. Every week we balance neighborhoods, price ranges and kinds of outings, with special room for independent events, neighborhood fairs, collectives and the cuisines of the many communities that make São Paulo.

What it costs

Nothing. The guide is free to use: no subscription, no sign-up, no paywall. No event, bar or restaurant pays to be listed, and recommendations follow our curation criteria only.

How the guide keeps going

Running the site has costs: hosting, the domain and the artificial intelligence that researches and checks the guide every week. If it helps you discover the city, you can chip in any amount. Donations are voluntary, give no one any advantage and do not change the curation.

Before you head out

Dates, times and prices can change without notice. Always check the official source linked on each event.
